The first weekend in Iowa took me to a US Car Show at the Riverside Casino, about 15 miles south of Iowa City. Riverside is the self- proclaimed birthplace of the fictional character, Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise and Star Trek fame.
Riverside is a small community of 928 people situated in the Heartland near the intersection of Highway 218, “Avenue of the Saints”, and 22 in the English River Valley. As a die-hard American Car enthusiast a big dream came true by visiting this event.
I spent a couple of hours at the parking lot of the hugh Riverside Casino while more and more hot rods, harleys, muscle cars, low riders and other US Classics cruised in. It was just mind blowing!
My Highlight
The biggest moment was probably when I spotted my own car as a convertible. It was a 2002 35th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro SS. It's 1 of 1398 built convertibles and 1 of 3000 Limited Editions worldwide. It was standing next to a super rare Yenko Camaro from the late sixties... WOW!
That's a big thing to a Camaro enthusiast!
Rare couple! Yenko Camaro and a Z4C SS
