A wintry mix of snow and sleet that switched fully to freezing rain coated roads. Allen County authorities declared a Level 2 emergency that day.
Under Level 2, only emergency travel is allowed. Drivers may be ticketed and vehicles may be towed if on the roads.

Streets were flash flooding and trees were down, causing about 40,000 people to be without power and most schools to close.
Fort Wayne's street department unleashed at least 40 salt trucks onto city roads Thursday night to attack the ice storm that hit overnight.
