04.-06.08.2001 - Bangkok
For acclimation we spent a few days in Bangkok at the Chao Praya River, close to the city district "Klong Toei". As an absolut "must see" for every Bangkok visitor we visited the Royal Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha!

07.-09.08.2001 - Chiang Mai
To meet the relatives of my wife's family we went to Chiang Mai, the second largest city of the country situated in the north of Thailand. The Region around Chiang Mai is famous for it's green hilly landscapes and the most beautiful temples with burmese influence.

10.-12.08.2001 - Lampang
Finally we headed to the city of Lampang, the place were my wife grew up. A lovely place at the country side, just a few kilometers south of Chiang Mai, which is surounded of freshly green rice fields and tropical palm trees. The city is famous for it's first class ceramics!

13.-15.08.2001 - Chiang Mai
Back in Chiang Mai Region we went to a cave expedition, which was for all of us a very exciting experience! As another "must see" attraction, we went to the famous temple "Wat Doi Sutep" which offers every visitor the greatest view over Chiang Mai City.

16.-18.08.2001 - Bangkok
On our journey downwards to the south, we did a 3-day stopover in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand which is also called "City of Angels", best place in the world to shop 'til you drop or just to experience the really crazy nightlife of this vibrant metropolis :-)

19.-22.08.2001 - Chumphon
To visit my grandparents and the place were my mother grew up, we continued our trip to beautiful south, a 1day journey from Bangkok to Chumphon with Thailands most popoular, inexpensive and convenient transportation system, the "Bus-Tour".

23.-24.08.2001 - Bangkok
After a few great weeks spending in "Amazing Thailand", the country with a thousend smiles and probably the best food in the world, our unforgettable holiday journey ends where we have started our roundtrip - in "Krung Thep Mahanakhon" - Bangkok.
